Baja homicide statistics 2010

Baja homicide statistics- 2010
***You were 21 times more likely to be murdered in Los Angeles County in 2010 than in Baja***(the population of LA County is approximately 3x that of BAJA)
I am totally sickened and fed up with idiots asking me, “Is it still dangerous down there?” and saying “I’m not going down there. It’s too crazy”… Do what you want and make your own choices, but I’ve reached my limit of patience; Its more than a grown man can bear. People are scared of the BAJA Boogie Man… Your wife won’t let you go? Ain’t my fault buddy, you married her. Show her some stats, pack your rig and head south…BAJA is safer than LA… Stay out of border towns and its utopia.
So, I’m working directly with the US Consulate in Tijuana and th US STATE DEPT here to compile actual data. Its an ongoing work in progress.
Out of 280 Total reported deaths of US citizens (by non-natural causes) in MEX total
67 of these (23%) occurred in BAJA
29 Homicides
18 Car and Motorcycle accidents
6 Drownings
7 Suicides
4 Aircraft Accidents

*** you are not as likely to be murdered in BAJA as you are to die from some other non-natural cause***
Compare these numbers to the number of homicides (622) reported in Los Angeles County in the same period.
***You were 21 times more likely to be murdered in Los Angeles County in 2010 than in Baja***
In the past 5 months (Jan 2011-May2011), 229 Murders in LA County vs 29 total in BAJA for all of 2010

If your interested, spend some time with this information and you can also go here for a screen (filter) for other countries or compare the 2010 calendar year (in Mex) with 1999 for example…

This is a blunt copy / paste of a post from an off-road website regarding Baja visits and the danger of it in light of the upcoming Baja 500 off-road desert race.
