Doin’ It Baja

Doin’ It Baja

Doin’ It Baja. It’s like, motorcycles, fire, tacos and beers, and a handful of our favorite skateboarders surfing and smoking their way down the coast of Baja California, Mexico? This thing is a gimme. Baja California’s one of those places with two, completely different reputations. One version of the place is a paradise with nude beaches, lunar desert plateaus, and lush sub-tropical area. The other Baja’s ground zero for the war on drugs, war on immigration, and gang war, fire, tacos and beers, and a handful of our favorite skateboarders surfing and smoking — not to mention home to Tijuana, donkey shows and all. Knowing the place had split personalities, we knew we had to check it out. Our own Patrick O’Dell along with Arto Saari, Heath Kirchart, and Keegan Sauder, make the 2,200 mile journey from San DIego down to the tip of Baja California Sur with only their motorcycles, skateboards, and good sense. And sometimes bad sense. Along the way our crew was joined by Harvey Foster, Kynan Tait, and Hime Hu, lead by the indomitable Bill Bryant. They’re there to give us the scoop on this often paradoxical region. Is it a drug infested hell scape, or a verdant paradise? Gang war battleground or hot vacation spot?
